Applications Supported

• Adobe Illustrator 8, 7, 6.0 or 5.5
• Macromedia Freehand 7.0 or 5.5
• QuarkXPress 4.0, 3.3
• Adobe Photoshop 5.0, 4.0

Adobe Illustrator is the preferred application for label layout and design.  Photoshop images should be limited to pictures used as elements or background textures.

With the exception of Photoshop, the final documents should be saved in the format in which they were created. i.e. a Quark document should be saved as a Quark document; it should not be saved as EPS or printed to a PostScript file.  If we do not have the application that your label design was created in we can work with an EPS file.

InstantLabel.com (Label Art of California) will take care of all necessary trapping and distortion.

Working with Images

Placed Images such as those from Photoshop should be produced at 100% of print size at 300 DPI.  The images should be saved in EPS format.

Please do not set text in a Photoshop image.  The resulting bitmap image's quality will degrade during the prepress process and the quality of your label may suffer.

Fonts

Apple Macintosh Users

Please include with your file all the fonts (Bitmap (screen) and Postscript (printer) ) used in the document.  Without the fonts, we cannot output your file.

PC Users

All fonts used in the document must be converted to outlines.
