How to FTP your Artwork
The following are step by step instructions for placing your digital
artwork in the upload section of the Instant Label FTP server. If
you print this page out you can refer to it when sending artwork.
Any artwork you place on our FTP server is only accessible by us.
No one else on the Internet, including you will be able to find or download
your artwork.
Before attempting to send your artwork be sure your file has a valid
file name and has been compressed.
Netscape
Step One - Connect to the Internet and open Netscape
Open Netscape Navigator and size the window so that some of you desktop
is visible.
Click on the link above or on the location bar of your browser enter
the ftp address shown above and press enter. It may take a minutes
or two for your browser to open the FTP window.
When you see the following in you browser window continue to Step Three.
Current directory is /upload
Up to higher level directory
Step Three - Locate the Label Design File
Using the tools available from the operating system locate the compressed
label design file you created and place it so that it and the browser
widow are visible.
Step Four - Drop the File onto the Browser Window
Note: Your label design file must have a valid
name that does not contain spaces or other invalid characters.
Our server will not allow you to upload a file with an invalid file
name.
Drag the label design file onto the browser window and drop it.
A dialog box will ask you to confirm that you want to upload the file.
Click OK
Netscape
Do you want to upload the dragged files to the FTP Server?
(OK) or Cancel
Depending on your browser configuration you may receive a warning
similar to the one below. To begin copying your label design file
Click OK.
Security Information
Any information you submit is insecure and could be observed by a third
party while in transit. If you are submitting passwords, credit card
numbers, or other information you would like to keep private, it would
be safer for you to cancel the submission
The status bar at the bottom of your browser window will indicate the
progress and time remaining to complete copying you artwork.
Note: When the file copy is complete you will not see your file on
the FTP site.
Internet Explorer
These instructions apply to Internet Explorer version 5. If you
are using an older version of IE you will need to upgrade to version
5 to use this feature.
Step One - Connect to the Internet and open Internet Explorer
Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and size the window so that some
of your desktop is visible.
Click on the link above or on the address bar of your browser enter
the ftp address shown above and press enter. It may take a minutes
or two for your browser to open the FTP window.
When you see an empty browser window continue to Step Three.
Step Three - Locate the Label Design File
Using the tools available from the operating system locate the compressed
label design file you created and place it so that it is visible along
with the browser widow.
Step Four - Drop the File onto the Browser Window
Drag the label design file onto the browser window and drop it.
A status box will appear indicating that you are coping a file to ftp.instantlabel.com/upload.
Note: When the file copy is complete you will see your file in the browser
window. However if you refresh the window the FTP site will again appear
blank.
Your label design file must have a valid
name that does not contain spaces or other invalid characters.
Our server will not allow you to upload a file with an invalid file name.
